Does insurance pay body shops directly?

Depending on the insurance company, some insurance companies the majority of the time the insurance company will send the check to the customer and the customer pays the body shop.

Some insurance companies will even deposit the money directly into your account.

If the insurance company sends you a check or deposit that is lower than the estimate from the shop, usually the auto body shop will submit a supplement to the insurance company to cover the extra.

Insurance companies generally do not want to pay more than they have to, so sometimes it’s not enough to cover the estimate at first and a supplemental invoice ends up being sent.
